SPECIAL MEETING                                                                                                                    JUNE 11, 2007
TOWN OFFICE BUILDING                                                                                                              6:00 P.M.


First Selectman Eldredge called the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M. with the following in attendance:  Selectmen Patton and Lewis, L. Nicholls and residents.

PUBLIC WORKS
The Board signed bills.  Discussions on the following topics took place.
Receipts for Transfer Station.
Weather forecast informational bill and the need to have this.
Ordinance on abandoned roads.
Maintenance of open space.
Beaver dam on Willington Hill Road.
Center School trees that need to be cut down.
GASB update.
Problem with dumping around cross culverts, it blocks the outlets.
FEMA extension for Tinkerville project.  Need to go to the Board of Finance on 6/21/07 in order to get started.
Prices for containment container.
Cost for generator is up to $56,000, it was awarded at $48,000 and $50,000 is available.  This will be looked into.
CL&P blew all circuits at the Senior Center; CL&P will pay for repairs.
Change order for the Water System for Senior Housing.
The water system at Hall School.
The cleanup of trash around the Village Hill Bridge.
The possibility that there is a work slow down at Public Works, this will be looked into.

DISCUSS AUTHORIZATION TO PURCHASE MATERIALS
First Selectman Eldredge explained that there is $25,000 appropriated for the cafeteria floor; the Board of Education went out to bid and it will cost $5,200.  Dr. Berglund wants authorization to proceed.  First Selectman Eldredge suggested a purchase order be issued from the BOE budget.  Dr. Berglund will talk to the Board of Education at their meeting Tuesday night.


SELECTMAN LEWIS MOVED TO ADJOURN THE MEETING AT 6:50 P.M.
Selectman Patton seconded the motion.
VOTE:  3 YES (ELDREDGE, PATTON & LEWIS)    0  NO
